Are you available to help God transform Nigeria?

This page is taken up today by the facilitator of
the
‘Week with the Lord’, Mr. Balarabe Usman.
We are grateful to him for giving us some clips of what he shared
with us in the course of last week.

ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO HELP GOD TRANSFORM NIGERIA?
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD;… Noah was a just man, perfect in his generation. Noah walked with God. Gen. 6: 8 -9
Despite the impressive development and advancement in science and technology globally there are with us very frightening effects and influence of the power of darkness: bribery and corruption; leadership without integrity; insecurity; violence, etc. Even within the church, there is a lack of compassion with widows, orphans, indigent people and wrong priorities by church and individuals. God’s answer to crisis is men and women. And you are the answer!!! For every situation and moment God found feeble but faithful, credible, willing men who depended on God to serve in those days. Many examples abound in scriptures: In Flood time Noah was used to build an Ark; In seeking to create a blessed nation, Abram was found available and obedient; David from a shepherd boy was made king of Israel, Esther from a slave girl to a Queen; Ruth from an outsider (widowhood) to the lineage of Jesus and Joseph from a Pit through slavery and Prison was raised in the Palace to became the first and only foreigner to attain the status of Prime Minister of Egypt. Nehemiah the Prince while in Slavery was called to Nation building; Hannah: From frustration and dejection, she became an honoured mother of Samuel, the first prophet in Israel. Daniel from Royalty to Slavery; Lived among corrupt leaders but made impact among four kings and affected the whole nation. Paul who was great in working against God became the greatest Apostle and the Samaritan Woman moved from Prostitution to become City Evangelist while Philemon, the Slave Master became a Freedom Fighter.
The destiny of men or of nations is always being decided in every generation in strategic ways by people who seek to be problem-solvers and while depending on God. God in His word have given man a great honour and place to be the only creature that resembles Him in His power to change situations. Will you be available for him? God is still in need of men who would join hands with Him in the task of changing the world, men who would agree to please God by living for others at a cost to themselves as was the case with Esther and Mordecai (Esther 2:1-23; Colossians 4:12; 2Cor.8:1-15 Philippians 2:1-11; John 17).
Realizing that we are products of God’s mercies we should continue appreciating God’s mercies and be focused on the critical factors in relationships which are relationship with God, with God’s people and with God’s world. We should also stoop low to relate with the lowly, the deprived and needy ones amongst us; love our enemies and pray for them. God who transformed us will transform them to be His children too. It is important to always evaluate your life through checking on the fundamentals of the Christian faith. We need to continue to grow our relationship with God and with one another.
God created you with the potential to live for Him through the instrument of the knowledge and the power He built into you. We must stop depending on our own strength or rationalising God’s word, but rather, make His word part of our lives. Paul gave us a blue-print in Colossians 3:1-17 for power to live for God. These are: knowing God, be devoted to Him, loving His Word and being obedient to same as well as being constantly in touch with Him in prayers, fasting and sacrifice, amongst others.
The age long secret of victorious Christian living remains, a life that is devoted to knowing God through His word via the discipline of quiet time and daily dependence on the leadership of the Holy Spirit. God has provided everything you need to live for Him in this world and they are in His word. Study as if all depend on the word and pray as if all depend on praying.
For Stars don’t struggle to shine, Rivers don’t struggle to flow, so you don’t need to struggle to excel in life, because   you deserve the best. Hold on to your dream with JESUS at the centre and it shall be well with you. Amen.
The greatest difficulty with the world is not its inability to  produce, but its unwillingness to share. –Smith

God bless you as you reflect on the message of the week with the Lord.
