GREETINGS AND FELICITATION We welcome all our eminent guests (first timers) very specially and pray…
At The Fulfilment Of Time We Will Celebrate God’s Faithfulness
“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony; and they loved not their life even unto death.” [Rev 12:11 (ASV)]
Everyone loves to celebrate; it’s a time of joy, a time of victory. More so during this yuletide season, we celebrate Christmas and we remember the fulfilment of God’s promise (Isa 9:1-6) in sending us our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Celebration is a time of pump and pageantry, it’s a statement of victory.
The scriptures from Genesis to Revelations attest to God’s faithfulness toward us. In Genesis 1, we read and learn of the creation; of the world and of man. In Genesis chapter 3 man fell and was banished from the Garden of Eden, because he died spiritually. As a result, he began to age physically, which implied that he was also gradually dying physically. Yet God was with them planning a way out.
Psalm 8 tells of how high God placed man in His scheme of things. His love for us knows no bounds and He goes to great lengths just to ensure we are saved. What a wonderful God we serve.
Isaiah prophesied 800years before the fulfilment of Jesus’ birth yet it came into fulfilment. In God’s time all things are fulfilled (Habakuk 2 : 3).
The book of Ecclestiastes is a book of wisdom, everything happens in its time. In the life of a child of God that time is set by God (Rom 8: 28).
The word “faithful” means true to one’s word, promises or vows. We serve an all-powerful, mighty God who honours above every other thing, His word (Psalm 138:2). God speaks and it is done (Isaiah 55:11). Jeremiah 29:11 is a pointer to God’s love for us and exemplifies His faithfulness. Even when we sinned, He still loved us (Rom 5:8).
When we speak as Christians therefore, we confess, profess and testify. The letter of James, tells us of the power in the tongue. A testimony is an attestation, a statement of victory on our part and an encouragement to others who are currently engaged in battles, an attestation to God’s spoken promises of being overcomers (John 16: 33).
As we celebrate God’s faithfulness this yuletide season, remember that there is great power embodied within you as a child of God. We must therefore speak as conquerors because we have a God who is living and faithful. We confess positively and no situation or circumstance can overcome us because God is our Father.
Have a victorious week as you move from a year of God’s faithfulness to another of hope to testify of His goodness.
