BEING IN THE PERFECT WILL OF GOD

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen”  Hebrews 13: 20 – 21

The dictionary defines the “will” in many ways, but summarily it means desire. This desire may be expressed in many ways legally or otherwise. Even in death, a man’s desire is still expressed in his Will. Consequent upon our relationship with God, as Father to son, Creator to creation, whatever God desires becomes a law for us.

This is seen especially in Exodus. The record of the Israelites’ journey from Egypt across the Red Sea, through the desert past Mount Sinai into the Promised Land is seen in the book of Exodus.  It is a statement to the test of wills – God’s will versus the people’s wills. God gave the Laws which were records of His will stated clearly, which if they had observed would guide them to walk blameless before Him, a road map for daily righteous living.

The psalmist in Psalm 19 verse 7 says, “the Law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul”

Whatever God wills or desires for us is always best for us, and nothing can stop His desire from coming to fruition in our lives except we ourselves ( Hab 2: 3, Rom 8: 28).

God’s will for mankind from world creation in Genesis has been expressed all the way to the book of Revelations, and it is that we be saved and reign with Him in Heaven. Therefore our salvation or deliverance matters to Him. As such this desire is expressed when we go through various phases in life, he assures us of His constant presence to save, to guide, to deliver (Psalm 23, 34: 19, Isaiah 43: 1 – 3, John 16: 33).

At all times, the Lord wishes what is best for us His chosen flock, but for us to benefit from it we must remain within the ambits of God’s spiritual laws, which are just perfect for us if only we take time to know them (Josh 1: 8), study them and appropriately apply (2 Timothy 2: 15) them to all areas of our lives.

Have a fruitful week as you allign yourself with God’s will for your life.
