Big Draught of Fishes after Long Night OF Drought – Result of Obedience

When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch”.  But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught ‘nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”  And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. (Luke 5: 4-6)

In the gospel according to Luke chapter 5: 1-11, we have Christ preaching to the people out of Peter’s ship.  The recompense or reward he made to Peter for the loan of his boat is a miraculous big draught of fishes.  Peter was reluctant in obeying what Jesus commanded that he should throw his nets to the deep for the big draught of fishes.

God requires from us a simple obedience.  Though fishes are usually found at the sea shores and hunting for them is better at night.

Peter considered the timing, which was at dawn and the area suggested by Jesus, which was the deep.  But Jesus might have been assessed as not been a professional fisherman like Peter was.  However, miracles do not go by protocols or how rational the arrangements look, obedience is the keyword.  Peter got the result he never expected because he obeyed.  This means it is not by power or by might, but by simple obedience, miracles would abound.  Jesus returned Peter’s boats with lot of fishes.

Whatever God uses or whoever God uses, He replenishes.

As professionals, our experience can fail us but obedience can never fail us.

Have a miraculously rewarding harvest thanksgiving.
