GREETINGS AND FELICITATION

    1. All glory, honour and praises to God for His faithfulness and goodness that have hitherto preserved all of us.  We welcome all our parishioners and other worshippers at this service.  God will surround all of us with His presence and favour, and also steadily and with Divine speed fulfill His purposes in our lives and families in Jesus name.
    2. We welcome all our eminent guests (first timers) very specially and pray that God will orchestrate unusual testimonies in their lives and families in Jesus name.  We appeal to them to fill the form given to them and to also wait briefly to see the ‘WELCOME TEAM” after this service. They are also enjoined to each take a copy of our bulletin for reference.d.   Congratulatory felicitations to all the birthday celebrants of the week.  We wish them all longevity, robust health, sustained joy, divine peace and accomplishment in Jesus name.
  1. MID-DAY PRAYERS DURING LENTEN SEASON: The mid-day prayers still continues from 12 noon – 1 p.m (Mondays to Fridays) in our church throughout this Lenten period.  Please pray for the grace to be there.  There will always be a clergyman to lead us.
  2. PRAYER REQUEST: Members are implored to send prayer requests to the church during our spiritual programmes and activities both on Sundays and weekdays. You do not have to include your names/identities. These prayer requests must reach the Vicar at least two (2) hours before the start of such services.
  3. MEMBERSHIP DATA:- We appeal to all our parishioners to fill and return the membership data form being provided at this service.  We need to update the data base so as to serve you better.  We wish to start sending daily devotionals, information and other spiritual materials.

INFORMATION FROM THE DIOCESE:

SUPPORT FOR CLERGY STIPENDS IN SELECT DIOCESE OF THE CHURCH OF   NIGERIA:  At the just concluded Standing Committee meeting of  the Church of Nigeria   (Anglican Communion), it was decided that parishes and individual (so touched) should please support some of the weak dioceses in the payment of their clergy stipends.  Kindly   extend  your  hands of fellowship through your generous donations or link up with the Vicar for   further information.  May God bless you as you do so.  

 

WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ ORGANIZATIONS

  1. IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY PRAYER MEETING: Date: Friday, 7th April, 2017 at Our Saviour’s Church TBS.  Topic: “Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows” (Gal. 6: 7 -8).
  2. MOTHERS’ UNION MEETING/PROGRAMME:  Date: Tuesday, 4th April, 2017. Topic: “Light up the World” (Matt. 5: 14 – 16). Time:  4.00 p.m. May you be richly blessed as you attend.
  3. PARISH WOMEN’S ANNIVERSARY WEEK: All women should please, note that this year’s Women’s Anniversary week would commence from Sunday, 30th April, 2017 with 3 -Days Revival (Monday – Wednesday) and Anniversary Thanksgiving on Sunday, 7th May, 2017 at both services.
  4. WOMEN’S GUILD PRAYER MEETING: Date: Wednesday, 5th April, 2017.  Topic:Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us(Hebrews 12: 1). Time: 4.00p.m.  May you be richly blessed as you attend.
  5. REGISTRATION FOR 2017 MOTHERS’ UNION ENROLMENT: Members willing to enroll into Mothers’ Union for the year 2017 should please put down their names and telephone nos. with the Vicar’s wife (Mrs. F. Oyediran) or with the Admin. Manager today or within the week.
  6. WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND: Kindly donate towards the Fund established to assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.
  7. PARISH CHARITY DAY:The Charity Day for the needy within our environment comes up very soon. We appeal for donations in cash and kind.  Items needed include:  Food   stuff (Rice, beans, yam, noodles, vegetable oil, provisions etc);  new and fairly used clothing, kitchen utensils etc.  These items should be deposited with the Vicar’s wife,  any of the Curates’ wives or at the Church Administrative Office.  May God bless you as  you do so.   1. THE INAUGURAL PARISH CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING:- The  Inaugural PCC meeting for 2017/2018 PCC members will hold on Tuesday, 4th April, 2017 at 5 p.m. Venue: Church Hall. All members are to please note and attend promptly.
  2. CLERGY TRANSFER:
    1. Tunde Oduwole from Church of the Nativity, Parkview as a Curate and Principal of BMJS, Ikorodu. He will resume on Tuesday, 4th April, 2017
    2. The Revd. Dr. Seun Adeyemi, a Curate at Our Saviour’s Church, TBS to the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina as one of the Cathedral Priests.
  3. SOLEMN ASSEMBLY/PRAYER CONFERENCE: This would hold on Saturday, 8th  April, 2017 in the Main Church.  Our Resource person is The  Rt. Revd. Dr. B.F.R. Ogunbamwo, the Bishop of the Diocese of  Ijebu South West.
  4. HOSPITAL VISITING MINISTRY/CHURCH CLINIC ANNUAL EASTER       CAKE SALES:-  The annual delicious Easter Cakes being provided by members of the Hospital Visiting Ministry/Church Clinic  to raise funds for  the purchase of drugs and other equipment will come up on Sunday, 16th April, 2017 (Easter Sunday).  Please note and patronize or book for some in advance through any member of the Ministry.
  5. THE LITERATURE AND PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE: Requests the submission of entries for the June 2017 edition of The Good Tidings Magazine. The entries may be in the form of articles, jokes, riddles, cartoons etc, that   would be of benefit to reader. Please send soft copies of your entries to goodtidings@osc-tabs.or. if desired, authors may send in their photographs   along with their entries. Please note the committee will review the entries and where contextual amendments are to be made, the committee will contact the author for approval.
  6. ILLEGAL PARKING ON GOVERNMENT ROAD: The Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts observed the illegal parking of vehicles within our environment, and advised that members should please, utilize the TBS parking lots being paid for, every Sunday.
  7. BE CONSCIOUS OF YOUR VALUABLES: Members and visitors are henceforth advised to be conscious  and take care of their  valuables such as bags, telephone handsets, money etc. in the church and outside the church premises because of the bad elements that mingle amongst us.

  1. FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

(a)  We share in the pains of the following:

  1. The Maduneme family of Ichida Anaocha LGA of Anambra State on the call to glory of Madam Eunice Maduneme (nee Maduabuchukwu) [Nne Nke Okwukwe, Aruka Akwu] – mother of Hon. Osita Maduneme, a member of the Guild of Stewards.  She died on 12th March, 2017.  Aged:  83 years.  Burial arrangements will be announced later.
  2. Sir Okey and Lady Nkoli Moka on the call to glory of their mother and mother-in-law respectively –  Nneokwukwe Madam Rhoda Moka.  Aged:  92 years.  Burial on the 26th May, 2017 at Ichida, Anambra State.
  3. Mr. C.L . Abara (a member of the Choir) and Mrs. Chinwe Abara (an active member of the Guild of Stewards)  on the call to glory of  their mother-in-law and mother respectively –  Mrs. Cecilia        Onyekwelu  Aged: 83years.  She died on Monday, 27th March, 2017. Burial  arrangements to be announced later.
  4. The Onianwa family on the death of their husband, father and grandfather,  Mr. Onuora Utomi Onianwa, who died on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Nkechi Onianwa, his children, Utomi, Chukwudifu,  Okechukwu, Onuora Onianwa, Ifeoma Adekweh (nee Onianwa) and grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.

  1. Mr. Victor C. Odunze (former active member of The Bible Study Group of Our    Saviour’s Church and immediate elder brother of Mrs. D.C. Amadi and brother-in-law to Mr. G.J. Amadi):  Service of Songs onThursday, 20th April, 2017 at his   country home, Mpama Village, Egbu; Burial service – Friday 21st  April, 2017 at The Cathedral Church of All Saints, Egbu; Interment at The Cathedral Church Cemetry,  Egbu in Owerri-North LGA, Imo State.
  2. Mrs. Mary Ucha Ndu (nee Awa Okwara) mother and mother-in-law of Mr. Ubani and  Mrs. Uloma Ubani Ndu respectively.  Christian wake on Friday, 7th April, 2017 at her residence   in Ndi Ndu compound,  Abia-Ohafia, Abia State at 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8th April, 2017.   Burial Service by Christ Presbyterian Church, Abia-Ohafia at Abia Community  Primary School field, Abia-Ohafia at 11 a.m.  Interment follows immediately after.

 

(c.) APPRECIATION FROM:

  1.  The Akinyemi family expresses sincere appreciation to the Vicar and his wife, the Curates and their wives, and the entire congregation of Our Saviour’s Church, TBS, Lagos, for your support through prayers, visits, (during the sickness and eventual passing on of our husband, father, brother and grand-father – Mr. Rotimi Akinyemi). May we never witness untimely death again in our church.
  2. The Omisore family hereby expresses sincere gratitude to the Vicar and his wife, the Curates and their wives, members for your solidarity with us during the one  year memorial service  of our son (Adeyemi Omisore) and at the launch of  Adeyemi Omisore Care Foundation (AOCF) held on Saturday, 25th March, 2017.   May God richly bless you all.
