GREETINGS AND FELICITATION

    1. Christ is Risen! He is risen indeed! Halleluia!.  We congratulate our parishioners, all our loved ones and other worshippers this morning on the celebration of Christ’s resurrection and our victory over Satan, Sin and the World.  God will empower us with the Holy Spirit daily so that we can reflect Jesus Christ and His Victory and Joy in our lives always.  We also pray that we shall live long in robust health, peace and prosperity to celebrate more of it in the years ahead in Jesus name.

We welcome all our eminent guests (first timers) very specially and pray that God will orchestrate unusual testimonies in their lives and families in Jesus name.  We appeal to them to fill the form given to them and to also wait briefly to see the ‘WELCOME TEAM” after this service.   1. EPISCOPAL AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE:- In recognition of the sacrificial contributions to advance the Kingdom of God here on earth, our diocesan and Dean Emeritus, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Most Revd Dr. Ephraim Adebola Ademowo,has decided to honour two of our members: (i) Sir Stanley Amuchie;  (ii) Mr. Akin Akinfemiwa, with the Episcopal Award during the 2nd Session of the 33rd Synod of our great diocese on Wednesday, 10th May, 2017 at 11.00 a.m in our church here.  We congratulate them and identify with their success stories.
  2. THE SUB-COMMITTEES OF THE PARISH CHURCH COUNCIL FOR YEAR 2017/2018: We congratulate the following parishioners who have been appointed as Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of the various sub-committees of the PCC for Year 2017/2018. Official letters of appointment have been written to them and other members of their various committees.  Hopefully, their inauguration and swearing-in will hold on Sunday, 30th April, 2017 at our combined service at 9.00 a.m.  We appeal that all of them and the PCC members that missed the swearing-in should be present punctually.

  1. ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUE: is a minimum of N1,000.00.  We appeal that we all register to become full members of our parish.
  2. THE NEEDS OF OUR PARISH: We thank all our members for your continual supports, generousity and personal sacrifice. Your labour of love will not be in vain.  We appeal to our members to pray concerning the following items which are needed by the church and as led by the Holy Spirit to assist  in donating them

INFORMATION FROM THE DIOCESE:

SUPPORT FOR CLERGY STIPENDS IN SELECT DIOCESE OF THE CHURCH OF  NIGERIA:  At the just concluded Standing Committee meeting of  the Church of Nigeria   (Anglican Communion), it was decided that parishes and individual (so touched) should please support some of the weak dioceses in the payment of their clergy stipends.  Kindly   extend  your  hands of fellowship through your generous donations or link up with the Vicar for   further information.  May God bless you as you do so.  

 

WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ ORGANIZATIONS

  1. 2017 LAGOS PROVINCE ANNUAL WOMEN’S ESSAY COMPETITION FOR YOUTHS: Theme:  “No Cross, No Crown”.  Levels:  Pry. 6; JSS 3.  Interested candidate should get in touch with the Vicar’s wife for details.
  2. IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY WOMEN’S PRAYER MEETING: Date: 19th  April, 2017 at  Our Saviour’s Church, TBS, Coordinator: Mrs. Chinyere Uhie/Mrs. Josephine John  Time: 10.00am.
  3. DIOCESAN GIRLS & LADIES GUILD’S EASTER PICNIC comes up tomorrow, March 17, 2017 at Faith Plaza, Bariga at 11.00a.m.
  4. VISIT BY OUR WOMEN: The women will be going to visit one of our link parishes – St. Andrew’s Church, Bogije on Sunday, 23rd April, 2017 after the 8 a.m. service.  All our women should please note and attend.
  5. PARISH WOMEN’S ANNIVERSARY WEEK: All women should please, note that this year’s Women’s anniversary week will commence from Sunday, 30th April, 2017 with a 3-Day Revival (Monday – Wednesday) and Anniversary Thanksgiving on Sunday, 7th May, 2017 at both services.
  6. WOMEN’S GUILD MEETING/ HEALTH TALK: Date: Wednesday, 19th April, 2017. Topic: “Conjunctivitis”  Time: 4.00p.m, by Dr. (Mrs.) Nathalie Daniyan. May you be richly blessed as you attend.
  7. YOUNG WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME: The Young Women’s Fellowship programme earlier scheduled for today has been shifted to next Sunday, 23rd April, 2017 immediately after the first service. Two topics will be treated on the day (a) Fashion and Beauty (1 Peter 3: 1-4);  (b) Television and children  (Prov. 22: 1- 6).  Speakers:  Mrs. Magdalene Adegoke & Dr. (Mrs.) Furo Weli respectively.
  8. REGISTRATION FOR 2017 MOTHERS’ UNION ENROLMENT:Members willing to enroll into Mothers’ Union for the year 2017 should please put down their names and telephone nos. with the Vicar’s wife (Mrs.F. Oyediran) or with the Admin. Manager today or within the week.
  9. WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND:  Kindly donate towards the Fund established  to  assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.
  10. DIOCESAN CHARITY DAY: The Charity Day for the needy within our  environment comes up on Saturday, 20th May, 2017 at 10 a.m.  We appeal  for donations in cash and kind.  Items needed include: Food stuff (Rice, beans, yam, noodles, vegetable oil,  provisions etc); new and fairly used clothings, kitchen utensils etc. These items should be deposited with the Vicar’s wife, any of the Curates’ wives or at the Church Administrative Office.  May God bless you as you do so. OTHER INFORMATION FROM OUR PARISH

  1. SALE OF EASTER CAKES BY THE HOSPITAL VISITING MINISTRY/CHURCH CLINIC:- The members of HVM/Church Clinic wish you all a very fruitful Easter season. The usual delicious Easter cakes prepared by members of the ministry (to raise funds for the running of the clinic & assist the needy) are available for sale at the church entrance.  Please patronize them, and you will be richly blessed.
  2. BE CONSCIOUS OF YOUR VALUABLES: Members and visitors are  henceforth advised to be conscious  and take care of their  valuables such as bags, telephone handsets, money etc. in the church and outside the church premises because of the bad elements that mingle amongst us.
  3. ILLEGAL PARKING ON GOVERNMENT ROAD: The Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts observed the illegal parking of vehicles within our environment, and advised that members should please, utilize the TBS parking lots being paid for, every Sunday.
  4. THE LITERATURE AND PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE: Requests the submission of entries for the June 2017 edition of The Good Tidings Magazine.    The entries may be in the form of articles, jokes, riddles, cartoons etc, that would be of benefit to reader.    Please send soft copies of your entries to goodtidings@osc-tabs.or. if desired, authors may send in their photographs  along with their entries. Please note the committee will review the enties and where contextual amendments are to be made, the committee will contact the author for approval.

Interment at Ogbunamiri’s compound.
      2. The family of Mr. Victor C. Odunze (former active member of the Bible Study Group of Our Saviour’s Church and immediate elder brother of Mrs. D.C. Amadi and brother-in-law to Mr. G.J.
