GREETINGS AND FELICITATION

    1. We welcome our father in the Lord, the Rt. Revd Michael Nazir Ali for worshipping with us and also preaching the sermon at this service. We pray that God will multiply his anointing in you and make your episcopal ministry a huge success.  He will also grant you travelling mercies as you return to your  country and diocese in Jesus name.
    2. We also welcome all our eminent guests (first timers) very specially and pray that God will orchestrate unusual testimonies in their lives and families in Jesus name.  We appeal to them to fill the form given to them and to also wait briefly to see the ‘WELCOME TEAM” after this service. They are also enjoined to each take a copy of our bulletin for reference.
    3. Congratulatory felicitations to all the birthday celebrants of the week. We wish them all longevity, robust health, sustained joy, divine peace and accomplishment in Jesus name.
  2. WOMEN REVIVAL – SUNDAY 30TH APRIL TO WEDNESDAY, 3RD MAY, 2017:  This revival with the theme “Women as Apostles of Christ –  2 Corinthians 5: 20” will continue in the Chapel tomorrow to Wednesday, 3rd May at 6.00 p.m daily.  We appeal to all our parishioners and other worshippers to attend.  It is going to feature healing, breaking of curses, deliverance etc.  Bring other people with you and God bless you.

  1. DRESSING OF BRIDES AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BRIDAL TRAIN DURING WEDDING SERVICES:– We use this medium to appeal to all parents and guardians whose children (daughters or daughters-in-law) will be getting married to teach them the dignity of decent dressing, especially during wedding services.  By decent dressing, we mean that the wedding gowns and other wedding dresses should cover  the entire body.  Any indecent dressings during such occasions will be frowned at and the clergy will not take kindly to it.  This is a very important notice that must be taken seriously by all our parishioners and other worshipers because we will not compromise the Word of God for any reason.
  2. EPISCOPAL AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE:- In recognition of the sacrificial contributions to advance the Kingdom of God here on earth, our Diocesan and Dean Emeritus, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Most Revd Dr. Ephraim Adebola Ademowo,has decided to honour two of our members: (i)  Sir Stanley Amuchie;  (ii) Mr. Akin Akinfemiwa, with the Episcopal Award during the 2nd Session of the 33rd Synod of our great diocese on Wednesday, 10th May, 2017 at 11.00 a.m in our church here.  We congratulate them and identify with their success stories.

  2. ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUE: is a minimum of N1,000.00.  We appeal that we all register to become full members of our parish.
  3. THE NEEDS OF OUR PARISH: We thank all our members for your continual supports, generosity and personal sacrifice. Your labour of love will not be in vain.  We appeal to our members to pray concerning the following items which are needed by the church and as led by the Holy Spirit to assist  in donating them
    1. Wafer bread (priest wafers & for the congregation)
    2. Imported sets of chasubles for the use of the Priests, for the celebration of Holy Communion.

INFORMATION FROM THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA:

  1. PRIMATE’S MEETING WITH EMINENT ANGLICANS: The meeting will hold in Abuja on May 4, 2017.  Please all our members invited should endeavour to be at the meeting.  The Primate is counting on you and he is also praying for you.
  2. SUPPORT FOR CLERGY STIPENDS IN SELECT DIOCESE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA: At the just concluded Standing Committee meeting of  the Church of Nigeria   (Anglican Communion), it was decided that parishes and individual (so touched) should please support some of the weak dioceses in the payment of their clergy stipends.  Kindly   extend  your  hands of fellowship through your generous donations or link up with the Vicar for   further information.  May God bless you as you do so.

 

INFORMATION FROM THE DIOCESE:

  1. THE SECOND SESSION OF THE 33RD SYNOD OF THE DIOCESE OF LAGOS:  The 2nd Session of the 33rd Synod of our great diocese begins  on Sunday, 7th May, 2017 with the Opening Service at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina at 4.00 p.m.  Synod meetings will hold in our Church from Monday, 8th May to Wednesday, 10th May, 2017 to start with Holy Communion Services/Mattins at 8.00 a.m. daily.  The Clergy Conference will hold on Thursday, 11th May, 2017 at 9.00 a.m.

We bespeak the prayers of the faithful for the Diocesan and President of the Synod, The Most Revd Dr. E. A. Ademowo, OON, FNAL, Ph.D,  all other members of the Synod and also for a wonderful and resounding successful synod session.

  2.  PARISH WOMEN’S ANNIVERSARY WEEK: This year’s Women’s anniversary  will commence today Sunday, 30th April, 2017 with a 3-Day Revival (Monday – Wednesday) and Anniversary Thanksgiving/Awards on Sunday, 7th May, 2017 at both services (8 a.m & 11 a.m).
  3. MOTHERS’ UNION MEETING/PROGRAMME:  Date: Tuesday, 2nd May 2017. Topic: “Secrets of Successful Marriage” (Eph. 5: 22 -29). Time:  4.00 p.m. May you be richly blessed as you attend.

  7. WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND: Kindly donate towards the Fund established to  assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.
  8. DIOCESAN CHARITY DAY: The Charity Day for the needy within our environment comes up on Saturday, 20th May, 2017 at 10 a.m.  We appeal for donations in cash and kind.  Items needed include: Food stuff (Rice, beans, yam, noodles, vegetable oil,  provisions etc); new and fairly used clothings,        kitchen utensils etc. These items should be deposited with the Vicar’s wife,               any of the Curates’ wives or at the Church Administrative Office.  May God                        bless you as you do so.   9. DIOCESAN WOMEN OF GRACE: Diocesan Annual Women of Grace Retreat comes up on the 13th of May, 2017 by 10.00am. All our women of grace should be  there.

 

OTHER INFORMATION FROM OUR PARISH

  1. BE CONSCIOUS OF YOUR VALUABLES: Members and visitors are  henceforth advised to be conscious  and take care of their  valuables such as bags, telephone handsets, money etc. in the church and outside the church premises because of the bad elements that mingle amongst us.
  2. ILLEGAL PARKING ON GOVERNMENT ROAD: The Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts observed the illegal parking of vehicles within our environment, and advised that members should please, utilize the TBS parking lots being paid for, every Sunday.,
  3. THE LITERATURE AND PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE: Requests the submission of entries for the June 2017 edition of The Good Tidings Magazine.

The entries may be in the form of articles, jokes, riddles, cartoons etc, that  would be of benefit to reader.    Please send soft copies of your entries to goodtidings@osc-tabs.or. if desired, authors may send in their photographs  along with their entries. Please note the committee will review the entries and where contextual amendments are to be made, the committee will contact  the author for approval.

  1. HOSPITAL VISITING MINISTRY’S/CHURCH CLINIC VISIT:- Members of the HVM/Church Clinic would be visiting a bereaved member today immediately after the combined service All the members & intending members should please note and attend punctually.
  1. INVESTMENT COMMITTEE MEETING: Members of the Investment Committee will meet on Wednesday, 3rd May, 2017 at 12noon prompt at the usual venue. All members are requested to be punctual.
  2. APPRECIATION:
    1. The families of Arthur-Worrey & Ogunmade-Davies express sincere appreciation to all the Bishops that participated, our Vicar, Ven Oyetunde Oyediran and his wife, all the Curates and their wives, members of the Choir, Guild of Stewards, Praise Band, and members of the congregation, for your support through prayers, presence and generous gifts towards the success recorded during the 90th Birthday ceremony of Chief (Mrs) Funke Arthur-Worrey recently.  We pray that God will continue to uphold you and your entire household.  God will grant us long life in good health. Dr Peter & Mrs Helen Nmadu & The Yisas write to express their immense gratitude to you for all your support to them in various ways following the death and subsequent funeral of their Father, Father In-Law and grandfather – Late Rev Canon Joshua A. Yisa.  We are indeed humbled by your show of concern, empathy and love in various ways. Please accept our sincere thanks. May the Almighty God in His mercy bless and reward you mightily in Jesus name.
    3. Mr. & Mrs. Ubani Ndu express their deep appreciation and thanks to our dear Vicar and his wife, the church clergy family and members of the congregation for your prayers and love extended to us during our bereavement and burial of our late mother – Mrs. Mary Ucha Ndu.  May God bless you all.

  1.   The family of Sir Okey and Lady Nkoli  on the call to glory of  Nneokwukwe  Madam Rhoda Moka. Burial on the 26th May, 2017 at Ichida, Anambra  State.
  2. The family of Mrs. Omolara Onye (Church Accounts Officer) on the call to glory of her father, Mr. Lamidi Balogun after a brief illness. Aged: 70 years. He was buried on Friday, 28th April, 2017 at Ikorodu.
