GREETINGS AND FELICITATION

1. 1. We raise our voices in praise and thanksgiving to our faithful and dependable God for counting all our members and the entire clergy family worthy to witness the beginning of Year 2018 in good health, joy, peace and felicity.  We pray that this same God will pilot the ship of our lives, parish and nation to the end of this year and beyond in Jesus name.  We are all enjoined to each take a copy of our weekly bulletin for reference.
   2. We welcome all those who are worshipping with us for the first time into our midst and pray that God will orchestrate new and unimaginable miracles in their lives and families.  We appeal that they should kindly wait briefly after the service to interact with the “WELCOME TEAM.”  They are to exit the church through the door on the lectern side of the church.
   3. We congratulate and felicitate with all those who celebrate their birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and other landmark events this week. God will continue to protect and guide them.  He will also sustain their joy and continue to be mindful of them and their desires and aspirations in Jesus name.
2. OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE:

      (a) Daily Holy Communion @ 7.15 a.m. (Mondays-Fridays)

      (b) Choir Practice – 6.00 p.m. on Tuesdays & Thursdays

      (c) Mid-Week Holy Communion @ 7.15 a.m. on Wednesdays

      (d) Mid-Week Prayer Meeting (Divine Intervention) @ 6.00p.m. on Wednesdays

      (e) Women’s Guild Bible Study/Meeting @ 4.00 p.m. on Wednesdays

      (f)  Bible Study @ 3.00 p.m. & 6.00 p.m. on Fridays.

      (g) Overcomers’ Hour @ 6.30 a.m. (1st Day of every month)

      (h) Divine Encounter (monthly vigil) to start @ 10.00 p.m.  (Last Friday)

      (i)  Bible School @ 9.00 a.m. – 11 a.m. every Saturday from January 20, 2018,

      (j)  Men’s Christian Fellowship @ 10.00 a.m. on the 2nd Saturday of every month.

      All those who are concerned should please endeavour to attend punctually.

3. SECURITY OF MEMBERS
   • a) Members are implored to use the car park that we paid for at the Tafawa Balewa Square, directly behind our church building every Sunday.  We wish to ensure adequate security during all our programmes and activities.  Security operatives will be more effective if there is free movement in the compound.
   • b) We also appeal that we should all cooperate with and obey the security personnel because they are working for our good.
   • c) Please all worshippers are sensitized to be vigilant during services and other activities and they should not leave their personal belongings unattended because of hoodlums that may be mingling with us.
4. OUR SPIRITUALITY
   • For us to have improved and guaranteed Spiritual growth this year, as mentioned earlier, we have decided to introduce Bible School which is going to be only tow hours per week.  To also ensure convenience for all our members and other interested people from outside, we have put in on Saturdays at 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the chapel.  We are going to have a Workbook.  We appeal that we all make the sacrifice to register and attend punctually.  There will be homework and two exams and we shall receive certificate at the end of the exercise.  It will last for six months (January to June).  We are starting by God’s grace on Saturday, January 20, 2018.  This will also impact on our finances and other expectations as well.

5. MONTHLY BAPTISM: Our baptism holds every first Saturday of the month.  Please plan to key into this, as your preferred date could clash with other programmes and can lead to rejection of your date.
6. REQUEST FOR SCRIPTURE READERS FOR YEAR 2018: Members interested in reading the Old Testament at 0800, 1100 and 1800 hrs on Sundays should please put down their names in the administrative office today and within the week. Kindly indicate your name and telephone numbers, and also a specific date (if any), so as to enable us prepare the roster. Those who would like to read to mark their birthdays are especially welcome. Note that the Epistles are usually read by the Readers.
7. DRESSING OF BRIDES AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BRIDAL TRAIN DURING WEDDING SERVICES: We use this medium to appeal to all parents and guardians whose children (daughters or daughters-in-law) will be getting married to teach them the dignity of         decent dressing, especially during wedding services. By decent dressing, we mean that the wedding gowns and other wedding dresses should cover  the entire body. Any indecent dressings during such occasions will be frowned at and the clergy will not take kindly to it. This is a very important notice that must be taken seriously. by all our  parishioners and other worshippers because we will not compromise the Word of God for any reason.
8. MALACHI 1: 12A GOD SAYS: “BUT YOU DISHONOUR MY NAME BY YOUR ACTIONS” (NEW LIVING TRANSLATION): God is dishonoured when in a Church service some of us do the followings: answer/make calls, read newspapers, etc; ping with our phones or do things that negate the real worship of God. Please if you have been doing any of these, desist from such. God bless you richly as you choose to reverence His holy and awesome presence.

 WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ ORGANIZATIONS:

1. LAUNCHING INTO THE DEEP:- The annual launching into the deep by members of the Women’s & Girls’ Organisations will hold from Monday, 8th January to Wednesday, 10th January, 2018 at the Chapel by 5.00 p.m. daily.  It is going to be with fasting and prayers. All women should note and attend.
2. Girls/Ladies including boys’ GUILD Rededication:- Date: Next Sunday, 14th  January, 2017 at  both services.  Those concerned should please note and attend.
3. WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND: Kindly donate towards the Fund established to assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.

 OTHER INFORMATION FROM OUR PARISH

1. Business Fellowship 10 million Empowerment Fund: The Business Fellowship, Our Saviour’s Church humbly request for the support of the church in raising 10million Naira as Empowerment Fund for 100(One hundred) aspiring entrepreneurs/members as a revolving loan at N100,000= each. Please send your   donations to the church account and indicate Business Fellowship Empowerment Fund. We pray that poverty will be far from you and your children.
2. ELDERS’ FELLOWSHIP OF OUR SAVIOUR’S CHURCH, TBS, LAGOS: The first monthly meeting of the Elders’ Fellowship of Our Saviour’s Church TBS in 2018 is taking place on Wednesday, 10th January, 2018 at 10 am prompt in the Chapel Extension. We will have our quarterly Bible Study and our yearly Group Photograph. All elders of 65years and above are cordially invited.
3. SCHOLARSHIP FOR OUR SAVIOUR’S CHURCH YOUTHS for those in government owned tertiary institutions is ongoing for 2017/2018 session.  Please submit applications to the Administrative Office.
4. DONATIONS TO THE CHURCH MADE EASY: To facilitate paying our Tithes, Offerings and other donations, the following have been put in place:

5.   FOOD BANK: The Food Bank is the Project of the Youth Ministry of this Church. This enables us to cater for the needy in the Church. The Bank opens every first Sunday at the Church Hall immediately after the Youth Service. We thank all our donors and ask more people to be part of this project. Please feel free to donate cash or food items; Rice, beans, Garri, vegetable oil, beverages etc to this bank.    • b) We announce the call to glory of:
     • i) Mama Mary O. Orhewere (Nee Ilaboya – 24th May 1927 – 24th December, 2017) , widow of the Late Canon A.B. Orhewere and mother of Mr & Mrs Obazua Orhewere. Funeral arrangement are as follows: Christian wake on Friday 6th April, 2018 at Ukokoyo quarters, Eme-Ora. Funeral Service at St. Peter’s Ang. Church, Eme-Ora, Owan West L.G.A., Edo at          00 am.
     • ii) Late Ugoeze (Lady) Vestal C. Egbukole (Mother and mother-in-law to Prince Ikenna and Princess Jennifer Egbukole respectively). Funeral arrangement are as follows: Saturday, January 20th, 2018 by 4.00 pm – 8.00 pm- Service of Songs  at Orpington Village Hall (Alfred Brown Hall). 311 High street, Orpington BR 6 ONN, London; Friday, January 26, 2018 by 5.00 pm – Service of Songs at Our Saviour’s Church Hall; Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at 12 noon – Burial service at All Saints Cathedral Egbu Owerri.
