Notices for June 28, 2015

  1. WELCOME- We heartily welcome you all who are worshipping God along with us today for the first time and pray that His love would be extended to you and members of your families. Kindly complete the form given to you and hand it over to the members of the church’s WELCOME TEAM who will meet with you at the CHOIR OFFICE point immediately after the service. Kindly join them through the Exit by the Lectern side of the church.
  2. DAILY HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE: – Please join us at 7.15 a.m. each day in the Chapel. God bless you.
  3. 2015 WOMEN’S HARVEST: We welcome our Coordinators for this year’s Women’s Harvest – Lady Chinyere & Sir Chief Chibuzo Ziggy Azike,, their children,  all their invited guests, and members of the congregation, and pray that God would continue to uphold and strengthen them physically, materially, spiritually and shower His blessings on them all.
  4. CLERGY WELFARE WEEK:-   We thank all who have been supporting the Clergy and seeing to their welfare.  This week and the next (28th June to 12th  July) have been set aside for all to stretch hands of love and fellowship to the clergy.  The Lord has promised special blessings for those who support His ministers.  You could support with cash/cheques (payable to Lagos Diocesan Workers’ Fund and you could also transfer tangible assets like shares, etc to the clergy.  The Lord will reward you and all your children in their several generations.
  5. TODAY’S PREACHER:-  We welcome The Ven. Segun Ladeinde, Assistant Synod Secretary and Vicar, St. David’s Church, Lafiaji, who will preach at today’s Women’s Harvest and also sensitise us to the needs of the clergy.  May the Lord bless us with His words today and bless him through us.
  6. CONFIRMATION CLASSES FOR YEAR 2015: All children aged 13 years and older, and all adults who have not been confirmed are to register from today with the Admin. Manager.  Classes will start on the 12th July, 2015 and the Confirmation Service will take place on Sunday, 18th October, 2015 at 9 a.m.
  7. THE MATTHEW 25: 35 FUND:- Please be reminded of the call on 15th March, 2015 (Mothering Sunday) for 100 members to volunteer to support the needy in this parish with N100,000.00 each.  We appreciate those who have responded.  Please be a blessing to those in need and the Lord will smile on you.  Please write your cheque in the name of ‘Our Saviour’s Church, Lagos & endorse at the back  “Matt. 25: 35 Fund”’  Thank you.
  8. MISSION SEED ENVELOPES: You are invited to help empower His  Grace, our Diocesan Bishop to help needy parishes and the mission fields in the diocese, within and outside the country by contributing at least One thousand Naira monthly towards the Mission Seed Project.  Mission Seed will be collected next Sunday, and on every first Sunday of the month, but you could also pay during the week.  Please collect and use a set of envelopes to help you pay regularly and God will bless you abundantly.
  9. TITHE ENVELOPES: God has asked you to obey Him by bringing in the FULL tithes into His storehouse and put Him to test if He will not rain blessings on you. To help you do this, the church has provided envelopes for regular tithing. Please collect yours from the Guild of Stewards.  The Lord will bless you with His ABUNDANCE as you obey Him.  Tithes are collected on every third Sunday of the month.  Please note that you can continue to pay your tithe at any other time of the week or make a direct transfer to the Church’s Bank account.
  10. 2015 SEA SUNDAY:- The 2015 Sea Sunday takes place on 12th July.  Prayers will be said on that day for all Seafarers and all who see to their spiritual welfare.  A collection will be taken on that day for their support.
  11. EDUCATION COMMITTEE: – Applications are invited from members/members’ children for consideration for scholarship for tertiary Education at any Public Institution in Nigeria. Applicants must have admission and the necessary qualifications. For enquiries call:  08033257929.
  12. 2015 O.S.C. CHILDREN AND YOUTH SUMMER WORKSHOP IS HERE AGAIN: Our 2- week Children and Youth Summer Workshop 2015 holds between 27/07/15 -07/08/2015. The Youth Committee has packaged yet another interesting time for the benefit of our children. Core skills on offer include MUSIC, CRAFT, PHOTOGRAPHY and ICT.

Other attractions!  TERRA CULTURE AND MAD SCIENCE CLUB.  Also, excursion to OLUMO ROCK are few of special features on this year’s programme. General Counselling topics will be offered and games are available plus free lunch daily. Registration Forms available at the Administration office at N2.500.00.  The excursion attracts an additional fee of N1,500.00. Register your children and wards today.  Limited spaces available.

  1. HARVEST COMMITTEE MEETING:The members of Harvest Committee would meet on Wednesday, 1st  July, 2015 at the Church Hall.  Time:  6.00 p.m.  Members should please, be punctual.
  2. 2015 PILGRIMAGE EXERCISE BY LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT: – The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board invite members to take advantage of the pilgrimage to Holy Land being organized by the Board and in particular, the one for 2015. Places to be visited:  Mount Carmel, Mount Tabor in Nazareth, Mount of Beatitudes in Capernaum, cruise on the Sea of Galilee, Bethlehem, Mount of Olives, Mount Zion, Old city of Jerusalem, Garden Tomb, Dead Sea in Jericho, Mount of Temptation, Mount Sinai and others.  Those interested should please contact: Tutu, Funmi & Deoti with telephone numbers: 08067978407, 08051585454 and 08025028275 for details.
  3. MID-YEAR THANKSGIVING BY WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ ORGANIZATIONS: – The Diocesan Women’s & Girls’ Organisations mid-year thanksgiving comes up today Sunday, 28th June, 2015 at Holy Trinity Church, Ado at 1 p.m. Women are to be seated by 12.30 p.m.  The church bus leaves the premises at 12 noon.
  4. Provincial Day of Fasting & Prayer FOR WOMEN:- Date:  Tuesday, 30th June, 2015.  Breaking of fast and prayer at 5 p.m. in the Chapel.
  5. BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP MEETING: Date:  Saturday, 4th July, 2015 at 8 a.m. in the Chapel.  Those concern should please note and attend promptly.

  8. MOTHERS’ UNION & WOMEN’S GUILD ANNUAL DUES:Members of the Mothers’ Union & Women’s Guild are hereby reminded of the payment of their annual dues to any of the clergy wives today or within the week.

  10. WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND: Kindly donate towards the Fund established to assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.
  11. CLASSES FOR MOTHERS’ UNION ENROLMENT:- The class for 2015 Mothers’ Union Enrolment holds today, immediately after the service at the Chapel Extension.  Members should please be punctual.

  2. FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR MR J.F. ATTE:  Monday, 6th July, 2015  Service of Songs at National Arts Theatre, Surulere – Lagos at 4.00 p.m.;  Tuesday, 7th July, 2015 –  Lying-in-state from 9.00 a.m. at Our Saviour’s Church, TBS, Lagos, and Funeral Service  at 11.00 a.m.
  3. CONDOLENCES: We share in the pains of Mrs. Iyabo Atta on the death on 6th June, 2015 of her daughter, Ms. Alima Atta (1967-2015).  The church was with her throughout the funeral on Tuesday, 16th and Wednesday, 17th June, 2016.  We thank all our members who rallied round her.  Please, continue to pray for her and the children.
