GREETINGS AND FELICITATION

    1. We appreciate all our parishioners and other worshippers who are with us at this service.  We congratulate all of you on this year’s Lenten Season and pray for divine empowerment, guidance and revelation in our renewed effort to seek His face.  God will orchestrate unimaginable surprises in your lives, finances and families in Jesus name.
    2. We welcome all our eminent guests (first timers) very specially and pray that God will orchestrate unusual testimonies in their lives and families in Jesus name. We appeal to them to fill the form given to them and to also wait briefly to see the ‘WELCOME TEAM” after this service.  They are also enjoined to each take a copy of our bulletin for reference.
    3. Congratulatory felicitations to all the birthday celebrants of the week. We wish them all longevity, robust health, sustained joy, divine peace and accomplishment in Jesus name.
  1. MID-DAY PRAYERS DURING LENTEN SEASON: There will be mid-day prayers (12 noon – 1 p.m) from Mondays to Fridays in our church throughout this Lenten period.  Please pray for the grace to be there.  There will always be a clergyman to lead us.
  2. PRAYER REQUEST: Members are implored to send prayer requests to the church during our spiritual programmes and activities both on Sundays and weekdays.  You do not have to include your names/identities.  These prayer requests must reach the Vicar at least two (2) hours before the start of such services.
  3. MEMBERSHIP DATA:- We appeal to all our parishioners to fill and return the membership data form being provided at this service.  We need to update the data base so as to serve you better.  We wish to start sending daily devotionals, information and other spiritual materials.

All members of the Parish Council (both elected and appointed) are enjoined to book the Parish Council Meetings which usually hold on the last Thursday of every month at 5.00p.m in their diary. Regularity and punctuality are essential and will be highly appreciated.

10.AD-HOC COMMITTEE ON EVANGELISM: The following Clergy and  Parishioners have been prayerfully selected to serve as the think-tank for the Evangelism Fellowship, and to submit their proposals to the Vicar for approval and implementation.

INFORMATION FROM THE DIOCESE:

  1. DIOCESAN VICTORY NIGHT: The next Diocesan Victory Night comes up on Friday 10th March, 2017 at the Cricket Pitch of Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.  TIme: 10.00pm.  Theme:    No Enchantment Against Me.   (Numb. 23: 23).  Come with your family, friends and relatives and you will be richly blessed.
  2. DIOCESAN YOUTH GLORIOUS NIGHT:-  Date:  Friday, 17th March, 2017 at 10 a.m.  Venue:  Good Shepherd Anglican Church, Marine Beach, Lagos.  Theme:  “Walking in His Path”.   All the Youth should note and attend.

 

WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ ORGANIZATIONS:

  1. IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY: Archdeaconry quarterly meeting on 19th March, 2017 at Our Saviour’s Church TBS immediately after 8.00am service.
  2. VISIT BY OUR WOMEN: The women will be going to visit one of our link parishes – Holy Trinity, Erasco on the 12th March, 2017 after the 8 a.m. service. All our women should please note and attend.
  3. MOTHERS’ UNION MEETING/PROGRAMME: Date:  Tuesday, 7th March, 2017 –  Topic:  “Worse than Nagging” (Job. 2: 9 -10) by Mrs. Ngozi Ifezulike.  Time:  4.00 p.m. May you be richly blessed as you attend.
  4. WOMEN’S GUILD MEETING/BIBLE STUDY 3: Date: Wednesday, 8th March, 2017 – Topic: “Divine Grace and Restoration” (Zechariah 2 & 3) by  Dame Princess Uzo Karenate-Egbuson. Time: 4.00p.m.  May you be richly blessed as you attend.
  5. 2017 MOTHERING SUNDAY: This year’s Mothering Sunday comes up on 26th March, 2017. Please pray for the success of the programme.
  6. ANNUNCIATION OF BLESSED VIRGIN MARY: This annual Holy Communion Thanksgiving Service to commemorate the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be holding in our church by God’s grace on Saturday, 25th March, 2016 at 1.00 p.m.
  7. PARISH CHARITY DAY:The Charity Day for the needy within our environment comes up very soon. We appeal for donations in cash and kind.  Items needed include:  Food stuff (Rice, beans, yam, noodles, vegetable oil, provisions etc);  new and fairly used clothings, kitchen utensils etc.  These items should be deposited with the Vicar’s wife, any of the Curates’ wives or at the Church Administrative Office.  May God bless you as you do so.   8. WOMEN OF GRACE PROGRAMME: Date:  Today, 5th March, 2017 at the Chapel extension.  Topic: “Looking beyond the grieve”  Speaker:  Mrs. Ijeoma Chuks-Okoye.
  9. YOUNG WIVES FELLOWSHIP – NOW “YOUNG WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP:- The Young Wives Fellowship has been renamed “Young Women’s Fellowship by our Diocesan leader – Mrs. Oluranti Ademowo.  This is to enable young widows, young single mothers and women benefit from the Fellowship.  Women who fall within this category and are 50 years and below should please,  join us every third Sunday after the first service at the chapel extension.   Mrs. Gbemisola Aduloju has been appointed as the Diocesan Coordinator.  The Archdeaconries in the Diocese has also been zoned and we are under the ‘SAPPHIRE HOUSE’.  Please note that the Sapphire House will have a retreat on the 18th of March at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina at 10 a.m.  Members should please plan to attend and you will be richly blessed.

ILLEGAL PARKING ON GOVERNMENT ROAD: The Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts observed the illegal parking of vehicles within our environment, and advised that members should please, utilize the TBS parking lots every Sunday. However, illegal parking will be at the member(s)       risk as the church now paid for more parking lots at TBS.   
  2. ELDERS’ FELLOWSHIP: The Elders’ Fellowship of Our Saviour’s Church, TBS, Lagos will hold its monthly meeting on 8th March, 2017 at 10 a.m. prompt in the Chapel Extension. A Health Talk will be delivered by an E.N.T. specialist fromLUTH. All Elders of 65 years and above are cordially invited.
  3. SOUND SYSTEM INSTALLATION COMMITTEE MEETING: Members of this Committee will have a brief meeting today, 5th March, 2017 immediately after the 11 a.m. service with the Vicar, The People’s Warden, The Director of Music and the Sound Engineers.  Venue:  The Vicar’s office.  Those concern should please, attend punctually.
  4. INVESTMENT COMMITTEE MEETING: Members of the Investment Committee meet on Wednesday, 8th March, 2017 at 12noon at the usual venue. All members are implored to be punctual.
  5. IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS MEETING holds on Saturday March 11, 2017 at St. John’s Church, Falomo.  Time: 4.00 p.m.
  6. THE LITERATURE AND PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE: Requests the submission of entries for the June 2017 edition of The Good Tidings Magazine. The entries may be in the form of articles, jokes, riddles, cartoons etc, that would be of benefit to reader.   1. RUN FOR A CURE AFRICA (RFCA) BREAST CANCER RUN: Date: Saturday, 11th March, 2017.  To register, see Admin. Aged:  79 years.  Tuesday,  21st  March, 2017 –  Service of Songs at 12, Ekenna Avenue, G.R.A. Abiriba  (Visitation by Women’s Guild and other church groups).  Time:  5 p.m; Friday, 24th March, 2017 –  Commendation Service at St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church, Abiriba at 4 p.m.;  Christian wake at her residence, Isi-Abadam, Ugwu Court, Abiriba at 6.00 p.m.;  Saturday, 25th March, 2017 – Open Air Service at  the ground of Egwuena Girls’ Secondary School, Agbo Court, Abiriba.     Interment follows immediately after.
