GREETINGS AND FELICITATION

    1. All glory, honour and praises to God for His faithfulness and goodness that have hitherto preserved all of us.  We welcome all our parishioners and other worshippers at this service.  God will surround all of us with His presence and favour, and also steadily and with Divine speed fulfill His purposes in our lives and families in Jesus name.
    2. We want to appreciate all our members that officiated at this year’s mothering sunday such as our father-in-the-Lord, Ven. S.B. Akinola, his wife, Mrs   Josephine Akinola, and Justice (Mrs) Adedayo Oyebanji and pray that God would continue to strenghten them physically and spiritually.
    3. We welcome all our eminent guests (first timers) very specially and pray that God will orchestrate unusual testimonies in their lives and families in Jesus name.  We appeal to them to fill the form given to them and to also wait briefly to see the ‘WELCOME TEAM” after this service. They are also enjoined to each take a copy of our bulletin for reference.d.   Congratulatory felicitations to all the birthday celebrants of the week.  We wish them all longevity, robust health, sustained joy, divine peace and accomplishment in Jesus name.
  1. MOTHERING SUNDAY:We rejoice with all our women on the occasion of 2017 Mothering Sunday. Our Sunday School Children, Youths, Young Women’s Fellowship and our fathers (members of Men’s Christian Fellowship) would make short presentations to mark the occasion. May God shower His blessings on you all.
  2. MID-DAY PRAYERS DURING LENTEN SEASON: The mid-day prayers still continues from 12 noon – 1 p.m (Mondays to Fridays) in our church throughout this Lenten period.  Please pray for the grace to be there.  There will always be a clergyman to lead us.
  3. PRAYER REQUEST:  Members are implored to send prayer requests to the church during our spiritual programmes and activities both on Sundays and weekdays. You do not have to include your names/identities. These prayer requests must reach the Vicar at least two (2) hours before the start of such services.
  4. MEMBERSHIP DATA:-  We appeal to all our members that are yet to complete and return their updated Data Form, to please do so at this service or within the week.  We need to update the data base so as to serve you better.  We wish to start sending daily devotionals, information and other spiritual materials.

  3. ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUE: is a minimum of N1,000.00.  We appeal that we all register to become full members of our parish.
  4. THE NEEDS OF OUR PARISH: We thank all our members for your continual supports, generosity and personal sacrifice.  Your labour of love will not be in vain.  We appeal to our members to pray concerning the following items which are needed by the church and as led by the Holy Spirit to assist  in donating them
    1. Wafer bread (priest wafers & for the congregation)
    2. Imported sets of chasubles for the use of the Priests, for the celebration of Holy Communion.
    3. Toyota buses (High roof & Medium room)
    4. Copies of Hymn Books

 

INFORMATION FROM THE DIOCESE:

SUPPORT FOR CLERGY STIPENDS IN SELECT DIOCESE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIAAt the just concluded Standing Committee meeting of  the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), it was decided that parishes and individual (so touched) should please support some of the weak dioceses in the payment of their clergy stipends.  Kindly extend your hands of fellowship through your generous donations or link up with the Vicar for further  information. WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ ORGANIZATIONS

  1. REGISTRATION FOR 2017 MOTHERS’ UNION ENROLMENT: Members willing to enroll into Mothers’ Union for the year 2017 should please put down their names and telephone nos. with the Vicar’s wife (Mrs. F. Oyediran) or with the Admin. Manager today or within the week.
  2. THE BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP MEETING (LAGOS ZONE) : Date: Saturday, 1st April, 2017 –  Topic: “Recovering your stolen Blessings (Psalm 103: 13; 2 Chro. 7: 12 – 14) by Mrs.  Sade Adetiba. Time:  8.00 a.m. May you be richly blessed as you attend.
  1. WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND: Kindly donate towards the Fund established to assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.
  2. PARISH CHARITY DAY:The Charity Day for the needy within our environment comes up very soon. We appeal for donations in cash and kind.  Items needed include:  Food stuff (Rice, beans, yam, noodles, vegetable oil, provisions etc);  new and fairly used clothing, kitchen utensils etc.  These items should be deposited with the Vicar’s wife, any of the Curates’ wives or at the Church Administrative Office.  May God bless you as you do so.   1. CLERGY TRANSFER:
    1. Tunde Oduwole from Church of the Nativity, Parkview to Our Saviour’s Church, TBS, Lagos as a Curate and Principal of BMJS, Ikorodu.
    2. The Revd. Dr. Seun Adeyemi, a Curate at Our Saviour’s Church, TBS to the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina as one of the Cathedral Priests.
  2. IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY PCC JOINT RETREAT: Date: Saturday, 1st April, 2017 at 9.00a.m.  Venue:  St. John’s Church, Falomo.  All elected and apointed members should please note and attend promptly.
  3. DIVINE ENCOUNTER (VIGIL): Our monthly Divine Encounter (Vigil Service) comes up on Friday, 31st March, 2017 from 10.30 p.m.  The theme is :  “Who shall go for us (Mark 16: 19-20)”  You are all expected to come and commune with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
  4. SOLEMN ASSEMBLY/PRAYER CONFERENCE: This would hold on Saturday, 8th  April, 2017 in the Main Church.  Our Resource person is The  Rt. Revd. Dr. B.F.R. Ogunbamwo, the Bishop of the Diocese of Ijebu South West.
  5. THE LITERATURE AND PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE: Requests the submission of entries for the June 2017 edition of The Good Tidings Magazine. The entries may be in the form of articles, jokes, riddles, cartoons etc, that would be of benefit to reader. Please send soft copies of your entries to goodtidings@osc-tabs.or. if desired, authors may send in their photographs along with their entries. Please note the committee will review the enties and where contextual amendments are to be made, the committee will contact the author for  approval.
  6. ILLEGAL PARKING ON GOVERNMENT ROAD: The Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts observed the illegal parking of vehicles within our environment, and advised that members should please, utilize the TBS parking lots being paid for, every Sunday.  
  7. BE CONSCIOUS OF YOUR VALUABLES: Members and visitors are      henceforth advised to be conscious  and take care of their  valuables such as bags, telephone handsets, money etc. in the church and outside the church premises because of the bad elements that mingle amongst us.
  8. INVESTMENT COMMITTEE MEETING: Members of the Investment Committee meet on Wednesday, 29th March, 2017 at 12noon at the usual venue. There are two very important matters to be discussed. Please be punctual.

SWEARING IN OF NEW PARISH CHURCH COUNCIL MEMBERS: This is to inform all elected and appointed members of 2017/2018 Parish Church Council members that the Induction ceremony would hold on Sunday, 2nd April, 2017 during the 8 a.m. service. Also note that the Inaugural meeting comes up on Tuesday, 4th April, 2017 at 5p.m. in the Church Hall.

      2. Burial Service at The Cathedral Church of St. Peter’s, Opp. General Hospital  Minna. on 31st March, 2017. Time: 10.00am.  Followed by Interment in the family compound.
    2. Mr. Victor C. Odunze (former active member of The Bible Study Group of  Our Saviour’s Church and immediate older brother to Mrs. D.C. Amadi and brother- in-law to Mr. G.J. Amadi) who passed on Saturday, 4th March, 2017 Aged: 82years.    Burial Arrangement is as follows:
      1. Service of Songs  – Thursday, 20th April, 2017 at His country home, Mpama Village, Egbu;
      2. Funeral – Friday 21st April, 2017 at The Cathedral Church of All Saints, Egbu; Interment at The Cathedral Church Cemetry, Egbu in Owerri-North LGA, Imo State.
    3. Mrs. Mary Ucha Ndu (nee Awa Okwara) mother and mother-in-law of Mr. Ubani and Mrs. Uloma Ubani Ndu.

      2. Saturday, 8th April, 2017 – Funeral Service by Christ Presbyterian Church, Abia-Ohafia at Abia Community Primary School field, Abia-Ohafia at 11 a.m.  Interment follows immediately after.
