- We welcome all our eminent guests (first timers) very specially and pray that God will orchestrate unusual testimonies in their lives and families in Jesus name. We appeal to them to fill the form given to them and to also wait briefly to see the ‘WELCOME TEAM” after this service. They are also enjoined to each take a copy of our bulletin for reference.
- Congratulatory felicitations to all the birthday celebrants of the week. We wish them all longevity, robust health, sustained joy, divine peace and accomplishment in Jesus name.
- THE SECOND SESSION OF THE 33RD SYNOD OF THE DIOCESE OF LAGOS: The 2nd Session of the 33rd Synod of our great diocese begins today Sunday, 7th May, 2017 with the Opening Service at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina at 4.00 p.m. Synod meetings will hold in our Church from Monday, 8th May to Wednesday, 10th May, 2017 to start with Holy Communion Services/Mattins at 8.00 a.m. daily. The Clergy Conference will hold on Thursday, 11th May, 2017 at 9.00 a.m. We bespeak the prayers of the faithful for the Diocesan and President of the Synod, The Most Revd Dr. E. A. Ademowo, OON, FNAL, Ph.D, all other members of the Synod and also for a wonderful and resounding successful synod session.
- EPISCOPAL AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE:- In recognition of the sacrificial contributions to advance the Kingdom of God here on earth, our Diocesan and Dean Emeritus, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Most Revd Dr. Ephraim Adebola Ademowo,has decided to honour two of our members: Sir Stanley Amuchie and Mr. Akin Akinfemiwa, with the Episcopal Award during the 2nd Session of the 33rd Synod of our great diocese on Wednesday, 10th May, 2017 at 11.00 a.m in our church here. We congratulate them and identify with their success stories. You are invited to come and felicitate with them.
- COMPLETION OF ADDITIONAL TOILET FACILITIES: The church through the instrumentality of the PCC has just completed the construction of additional toilet facilities for the use of our members and other worshippers. It is located after the Chapel Extension beside the Church Clinic. Professionhal cleaners are now assigned to clean the toilets and we appeal to all our parishioners and other worshippers to comply with the directives of the cleaners. It is for our hygene, please.
- RENOVATION OF THE CHURCH AND CHAPEL BUILDINGS: The renovation works have been partially completed and will hopefully continue after the Synod by God’s grace. We appeal to all parishioners and other worshippers that there will not be thorughfare from the South door to the North door henceforth except during church services and other activities. The Conference Room will also be open for meetings and programmes only.

- DRESSING OF BRIDES AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BRIDAL TRAIN DURING WEDDING SERVICES:– We use this medium to appeal to all parents and guardians whose children (daughters or daughters-in-law) will be getting married to teach them the dignity of decent dressing, especially during wedding services. By decent dressing, we mean that the wedding gowns and other wedding dresses should cover the entire body. Any indecent dressings during such occasions will be frowned at and the clergy will not take kindly to it. This is a very important notice that must be taken seriously by all our parishioners and other worshippers because we will not compromise the Word of God for any reason
- ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUE: is a minimum of N1,000.00. We appeal that we all register to become full members of our parish.
- THE NEEDS OF OUR PARISH: We thank all our members for your continual supports, generosity and personal sacrifice. Your labour of love will not be in vain. We appeal to our members to pray concerning the following items which are needed by the church and as led by the Holy Spirit to assist in donating them
(i) Wafer bread (priest wafers & for the congregation)
(ii) Imported sets of chasubles for the use of the Priests, for the celebration of Holy Communion.
(iii) Toyota buses (High roof & Medium room)
(iv) Copies of Hymn Books
INFORMATION FROM THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA:
SUPPORT FOR CLERGY STIPENDS IN SELECT DIOCESE OF THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA: At the just concluded Standing Committee meeting of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), it was decided that parishes and individual (so touched) should please support some of the weak dioceses in the payment of their clergy stipends. Kindly extend your hands of fellowship through your generous donations or link up with the Vicar for further information. May God bless you as you do so.
WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ ORGANIZATIONS
- 2017 LAGOS PROVINCIAL ANNUAL WOMEN’S ESSAY COMPETITION FOR YOUTHS: Theme: “No Cross, No Crown”. Levels: Pry. 6; JSS 3. Interested candidate should get in touch with the Vicar’s wife for details.
- WOMEN’S GUILD MEETING/TALK POSTPONED: Due to the 2nd Session of the 33rd Synod of the Diocese of Lagos starting in this church from tomorrow, Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th May, 2017. The women’s prayer/talk on Wednesday will not hold. All women should be prepared to assist when requested to do so.
3.REGISTRATION FOR 2017 MOTHERS’ UNION ENROLMENT:– Members willing to enroll into Mothers’ Union for the year 2017 should please put down their names and telephone nos. with the Vicar’s wife (Mrs.F. Oyediran) or with the Admin. Manager today or within the week.
- WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND: Kindly donate towards the Fund established to assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.
- WOMEN OF GRACE MEETING/TALK: Members of Women of Grace meet today, 7th May, 2017 immediately after the first service at the Chapel Extension. Topic: “Be strong and stand firm (I Cor. 15: 58) by Mrs. Ngozi Arinze.
- DIOCESAN CHARITY DAY: The Charity Day for the needy within our environment comes up on Saturday, 20th May, 2017 at 10 a.m. We appeal for donations in cash and kind. Items needed include: Food stuff (Rice, beans, yam, noodles, vegetable oil, provisions etc); new and fairly used clothings, kitchen utensils etc. These items should be deposited with the Vicar’s wife, any of the Curates’ wives or at the Church Administrative Office. - DIOCESAN WOMEN OF GRACE: Diocesan Annual Women of Grace Retreat comes up on the 13th of May, 2017 by 10.00am. All the Women of Grace please attend.

- BE CONSCIOUS OF YOUR VALUABLES: Members and visitors are henceforth advised to be conscious and take care of their valuables such as bags, telephone handsets, money etc. in the church and outside the church premises because of the bad elements that mingle amongst us.
- ILLEGAL PARKING ON GOVERNMENT ROAD: The Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts observed the illegal parking of vehicles within our environment, and advised that members should please, utilize the TBS parking lots being paid for, every Sunday.
- ELDERS’ FELLOWSHIP OF OUR SAVIOUR’S CHURCH: This is to inform the members of the Elders’ Fellowship of Our Saviour’s Church, TBS, Lagos that our monthly meeting which should have been held on Wednesday 10th May, 2017 has been postponed to Wednesday, 17th May, 2017 because of the Synod.
- ADMISSION FORM INTO JS ONE BABINGTON MACAULAY JUNIOR SEMINARY: The admission form into the above-named Junior Seminary is now on sale in this church at the Admin. Manager’s office. - THE LITERATURE AND PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE: Requests the submission of entries for the June 2017 edition of The Good Tidings Magazine. The entries may be in the form of articles, jokes, riddles, cartoons etc, that would be of benefit to reader. Please send soft copies of your entries to goodtidings@osc-tabs.or. if desired, authors may send in their photographs along with their entries. Please note the committee will review the entries and where contextual amendments are to be made, the committee will contact the author for approval.
