 GREETINGS AND FELICITATION

    1. All glory, honour and praises to God for His faithfulness and goodness that have hitherto preserved all of us.  We welcome all our parishioners and other worshippers at this service.  God will surround all of us with His presence and favour, and also steadily and with Divine speed fulfill His purposes in our lives and families in Jesus name.
    2. We welcome all our eminent guests (first timers) very specially and pray that God will orchestrate unusual testimonies in their lives and families in Jesus name. We appeal to them to fill the form given to them and to also wait briefly to see the ‘WELCOME TEAM” after this service.  They are also enjoined to each take a copy of our bulletin for reference.
    3. Congratulatory felicitations to all the birthday celebrants of the week. We wish them all longevity, robust health, sustained joy, divine peace and accomplishment in Jesus name.
  1. INVITATION TO IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY 10TH PASTORATE ANNIVERSARY THANKSGIVING SERVICE:- You are all invited to the 10th Pastorate Anniversary Thanksgiving of our Archdeaconry, Ikoyi Archdeaconry today at 2.00 p.m. Venue:  ST. JOHN’S CHURCH, FALOMO.
  2. ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUE: Please note that our annual membership due has now been increased as follows:  a minimum of N5,000.00 (for Adult) and N2,000.00 (Youth).  We appeal that we all register to become full members of our parish.

  1. DRESSING OF BRIDES AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE BRIDAL TRAIN DURING WEDDING SERVICES: We use this medium to appeal to all parents and guardians whose children (daughters or daughters-in-law) will be getting married to teach them the dignity of decent dressing, especially during  wedding services. By decent dressing, we mean that the wedding gowns and other wedding dresses should cover  the entire body.  Any indecent dressings during such occasions will be frowned at and the clergy will not take   kindly to it. This is a very important notice that must be taken seriously by all our  parishioners  and other worshippers because we will not compromise the Word of God for any reason.

 

INFORMATION FROM THE CHURCH OF NIGERIA

SUPPORT FOR CLERGY STIPENDS IN SELECT DIOCESE OF THE CHURCH OF  NIGERIA:  We sincerely appreciate our parishioners who have responded positively to the Primate’s passionate appeal concerning the payment of clergy in a number of our dioceses across the nation.  God will continue to increase them in all good things and also on all sides.  We still appeal to many others who are in positions to do so to kindly emulate them.  Please let us assist in alleviating the problems of these clergymen and their dependants.

 

WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ ORGANIZATIONS

  1. 2017 LAGOS PROVINCIAL ANNUAL WOMEN’S ESSAY COMPETITION FOR YOUTHS: Theme:  “No Cross, No Crown”.  Levels:  Pry. 6; JSS 3.  Interested candidate should get in touch with the Vicar’s wife for details.
  2. IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY WOMEN’S QUARTERLY MEETING: Date: Sunday, 4th June, 2017. Time: 10.00am, Venue: Church of the Nativity, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi. Topic: “May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely in love” (Eph. 3: 17).
  3. OUR WOMEN’S VISIT: Date: Tuesday, 31st May, 2017.  Time: 12 Noon. May  you be richly blessed as you attend.
  4. THE BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP MEETING (LAGOS ZONE): Date: Saturday, 3rd June, 2017 – Topic: “Praise and Testimony: Acceptable unto Godby Ven. David Adebayo, Time:  8.00 a.m. May you be richly blessed as you attend.
  5. REGISTRATION FOR 2017 MOTHERS’ UNION ENROLMENT:Members willing to enroll into Mothers’ Union for the year 2017 should please put down their names and telephone nos. with the Vicar’s wife (Mrs.F. Oyediran) or with the Admin. Manager today or within the week.
  6. WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND: Kindly donate towards the Fund established  to  assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.

  2. APPRECIATION –  2017 ROGATION/HARVEST SEASON LAUNCH: The Vicar, PCC and the entire church appreciate and thank those who contributed in one way or the other in making our Harvest Launch last Sunday a success, especially the Chief Launchers and their supporters, the Harvest Committee Chairman and members. May God bless us all!
  1. DEUTERONOMY 23: 21-23: If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not postpone fulfilling it; for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and you would incur guilt.  But if you refrain from vowing, you will not incur guilt.  Whatever your lips utter you must diligently perform, just as you have freely vowed to the Lord your God with your own mouth.
  2. BE CONSCIOUS OF YOUR VALUABLES: Members and visitors are henceforth advised to be conscious and take care of their  valuables such as bags, telephone handsets, money etc. in the church and outside the church premises because of the bad elements that mingle amongst us.
  3. ILLEGAL PARKING ON GOVERNMENT ROAD: The Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts observed the illegal parking of vehicles within our environment, and advised that members should please, utilize the TBS parking lots being paid for, every Sunday.
  4. SUNDAY SCHOOL MINISTRY NOTICE TO PARENTS/GUARDIAN: Parents/Guardians are encouraged to please, send their teenage children to the Teenage class for services. They should not sit with their parents/guardians in the Adult Church. The Teenage Church is well suited and organized to cater for teenagers. God bless.
  5. ADMISSION FORM INTO JS ONE IN BABINGTON MACAULAY JUNIOR SEMINARY: The admission form into the above-named Junior Seminary is now on sale in this church at the Admin. Manager’s office. Payment should be made into Zenith Bank Plc: Babington Macaulay Junior  Seminary Account No: 1012883577 (Teller available in the same office). The teller would be used to obtain the form. Kindly liaise with the Admin. Manager for details.
  6. THE LITERATURE AND PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE Requests the submission of entries for the June 2017 edition of The Good Tidings Magazine.

The entries may be in the form of articles, jokes, riddles, cartoons etc, that would be of benefit to reader. Please send soft copies of your entries to  goodtidings@osc-tabs.or. if desired, authors may send in their photographs along with their entries. Please note the committee will review the entries and where contextual  amendments are to be made, the committee will contact the author for approval.

We announce the call to glory of Mr. Onuora Utomi Onianwa (husband of Mrs. Clara Nkechi Onianwa and father of Mr. Chukwudifu Onianwa and others).  Funeral arrangements – Service of Songs on Thursday, 8th June, 2017 at Holy Trinity Church, Asaba at 5 p.m.;  Burial Service on Friday, 9th June, 2017 at Holy Trinity Church, Asaba at 10 a.m. Interment at the residence of the Onianwas, Nnebisi Road, Asaba.
