GREETINGS AND FELICITATION

    1. We welcome all our members and other worshippers at this service.  We appeal that we remember to pray for our dear nation for Divine Intervention at this difficult time.  Please take a copy of our weekly bulletin for reference.
    2. We also welcome all our guests who are fellowshipping for the first time.  Please fill the form given to you and wait briefly after the service to see the ‘WELCOME TEAM’ as you exit through the door on the lectern side of the church.
    3. We congratulate all Birthday celebrants of the week and pray for longevity, robust health and prosperity for all of them.
    4. We congratulate the following families being prayed for today.   1. OUR WEEKLY ACTIVITIES: We appeal to all parishioners and other worshippers to please attend any or all of them and God will bless you all beyond your expectations:
    1. Daily Holy Communion @ 7.15 a.m. from Mondays to Fridays
    2. Hour of Divine Intervention on Wednesdays @ 6.00 p.m to 7.30 p.m.
    3. Bible Study on Fridays @ 3.00 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. & 6.00 p.m. – 7.30 p.m.
    4. Overcomer’s Hour –  First Day of the month @ 6.30 a.m. to 7.00 a.m.
    5. Glorious Night –  Last Fridays of the month @ 11.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m.
    6. Workers’ Retreat –  as the Vicar deems appropriate.
  1. ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUE: is a minimum of N1,000.00.  We appeal that we all register to become full members of our parish.
  2. FAMILY HARVEST: God expects each family to appear before Him at least once a year for thanksgiving and re-dedication.  As families, it is important to give thanks in appreciation of His faithfulness and goodness to us and to also rededicate and recommit all members of our families to Him for safe-keeping, provision, defence, sustenance, preservation, good health, victory and joy.  Please note that all members of the Church are expected to celebrate their annual Family Harvests.
  3. THE NEEDS OF OUR PARISH: We thank all our members for your continual supports, generosity and personal sacrifice.  Your labour of love will not be in vain.  We appeal to our members to pray concerning the following items which are needed by the church and as led by the Holy Spirit to assist  in donating them
    1. Wafer bread (priest wafers & for the congregation)
    2. Altar Cross (should be the latest and with steps)
    3. Imported sets of chasubles for the use of the Priests, for the celebration of Holy Communion.
    4. Toyota buses (High roof & Medium room)
    5. Copies of Hymn Books
  1. OUR ADULT HARVEST THANKSGIVING SERVICE & LOVE FEAST:- For some fundamental reasons, our Adult Harvest celebration has been postponed by a week.  The new date is Sunday, 16th October, 2016 at 9.00 a.m.  We regret all the inconveniences that this may cause all our parishioners.  God of harvest will bless all of us.

 

WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ ORGANIZATIONS

  1. ENDOWMENT FUND:- Church of Nigeria Women’s & Girls’ Endowment Fund will be collected throughout the month of October.  We plead with all our women to please pay generously to any of the clergy wives.  God bless you all and enlarge your coast.  Amen.
  2. MOTHERS’ UNION & WOMEN’S GUILD ANNUAL DUES:- Members of the Mothers’ Union & Women’s Guild are hereby reminded of the payment of their annual dues to any of the clergy wives today or within the week.
  3. CLASSES FOR 2016 MOTHERS’ UNION ENROLMENT:- The class for 2016 Mothers’ Union Enrollment holds today, immediately after the service at the Chapel Extension. Members should please be punctual.

  1. IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY WOMEN’S DAY OF PRAISE:- The Ikoyi Archdeaconry Women’s Day of Praise comes up on Saturday, 8th October, 2016 at Our Saviour’s Church, TBS, Lagos at 10.00 a.m. You are all invited to come and fellowship and give praises to our God.
  2. MOTHERS’ UNION MEETING/TALK: Date: Tuesday, 4th October,  2016  –  Talk on “Divorce & the effects on children”  by  Mrs.  Uzodinma.  Time: 4.00p.m.  May you be richly blessed as you attend.
  3. WOMEN’S MEETING/HEALTH TALK: Date: Wednesday, 5th October, 2016 – Prayer meeting/Testimony. Theme: ‘Stand firm’ (Heb. 10: 35-39; I Cor. 15: 58)’ by Mrs. Helen Arinze.  Time: 4.00p.m.  May you be richly blessed as you attend.
  1. IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY MONTHLY PRAYER MEETING will hold on Friday, 7th October, 2016 at Our Saviour’s Church, TBS at 5.00 p.m. The topic: Beware of the coming wrath’  (Rev. 19: 11-15)
  2. WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND: Kindly donate towards the Fund established to assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.

 

OTHER INFORMATION FROM OUR PARISH

  1. CHANGE OF DATE FOR CONFIRMATION SERVICE: The new date is Sunday, 23rd October, 2016 at 9.00 a.m.  All who are being prepared to be confirmed should be very committed to what they are being taught.  Examination today after the second service.
  2. EXAMINATION FOR CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES 2016:- Examination for confirmation candidates holds today, October 2, 2016 after the 11.00 a.m. service. Candidates, please make sure that you have submitted photocopies of your baptismal certificates.

The Vicar’s hour, final preparation and rehearsal comes up on Saturday October 22, 2016 at 4.00 p.m. Candidates are advised to come to the rehearsal with the dresses they intend to wear on the confirmation day.

  1. THE PARISH CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING:The PCC members will meet on Thursday, 6th October, 2016 at 5 p.m.    Venue: Church Hall.   All members are to please collect their papers from the Front Office today or within the week.
  2.   4. PRE-ADULT HARVESTREVIVAL:- Our Pre-Adult Harvest Revival holds on Sunday, 9th October, 2016 at both services and continues on Monday, 10th October – Friday, 14th October, 2016 at 6.00 p.m. each day.
  5. APPRECIATION:- The Church appreciates Mrs. Uzoamaka Okerie for taking time to clean the church, especially the high and hidden corners, hitherto infested with spiders’ web.
  6. LABICO ADMISSION:- The Lagos Anglican Bible College forms for admission into Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma Course in Biblical Studies for year 2016/2017 Session commencing October 2016 are now on sale at the Study Centres,17, Broad Street, Lagos, and the offices of the following churches:  All Soul’s Anglican Church, Lekki; New Era Anglican Church, Lekki.  For further enquiries, call:  0702-911-5155, 01-8931260.
  7. DIVCCON 2016:- This year’s DIVCCON starts in Abuja from Monday, 7th to Friday, 11th November, 2016.  Members are please, encouraged to start registering now.  Divccon registration fee is N3,500.00 payable to Zenith Bank Account No: 1130045359 (Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion Divccon) and obtain your PIN from the bank. Meet the Admin. Manager or go to www.divvcon.org for the process of registration.
  8. VISITATION TO MEMBERS:- Those who have privileged information about home bound parishioners as a result of sickness and/or old age should notify the Vicar or The Revd Canon Clement Iwuoha, for visitation to be arranged for them.
  9. “The Literature and Publications Committee requests the submission of entries for the December 2016 edition of Good Tidings. The entries may be in form of articles, jokes, riddles, cartoons, etc., that would be of benefit to readers. Please send soft copies of your entries to goodtidings@osc-tbs.org. If desired, authors may send in their photographs along with their entries.”
