- WELCOME– We heartily welcome you all who are worshipping God along with us today for the first time and pray that His love would be extended to you and members of your families. Kindly complete the form given to you and hand it over to the members of the church’s WELCOME TEAM who will meet with you at the CHOIR OFFICE point immediately after the service. Kindly join them through the Exit by the Lectern side of the church.
- DAILY HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE: – There will be no 7.15 a.m. service in the Chapel this week. Join us as from next week Monday.
- HAPPY CELEBRATION BELOVED! This morning, all the children and the Youth of this church will come before the Lord to celebrate another Harvest Thanksgiving. It is therefore my joy and delight to welcome all our lovely children and Youths, their parents, teachers, friends, class/course-mates and colleagues to this service of thanksgiving. As you come before the Lord, I pray that the Lord will fill you with a deep sense of gratitude. Keep yourself busy on wholesome activities.
- 2015 CHILDREN & YOUTHS’ HARVEST THANKSGIVING/LOVE FEAST:– We appreciate the Chairman of this year’s Harvest, Chief (Barrister) & Mrs. Musa Danjuma; the Parents of the Day, Mr. & Mrs. Onuorah Orji; the Cake Unveiler, Major General (Dr) & Mrs Napoleon Amarie, all their supporters, and other Special Guests. Please note that the Love Feast would hold at the Cricket Pitch of the Tafawa Balewa Square Complex immediately after the thanksgiving service. You are all requested to participate fully.
- MEET OUR PREACHER: We welcome The Revd David Akintunde Coker, the Preacher at this year’s Children’s & Young Persons’ Harvest. Akin was raised in St. Jude’s Church, Ebute-Metta before moving to Church of the Resurrection, 1004 where he cut his milk teeth. He grew up in that church and was a Youth Leader, the Band Leader and a strong member of the Evangelical Committee that founded three churches in one year – one in Togo, one at Abraham Adesanya Estate and one at Lekki. He was particularly involved with the Togo and Abraham Adesanya Estate churches. He studied English (B.A[Hons]) at LASU and was trained and had his theological education at The Lagos Anglican Seminary. He was deaconed in 2011 and assigned to nurture a church at Eputu on the fast developing Lekki-Epe corridor. He is married to Mayokun, who was also a hard working member of the Youth Fellowship and the Evangelical Ministry at 1004 and they are blessed with three children. We pray that the Lord would use him to bless us today and bless him, his family and his very challenging young church.
- ANNUAL CLERGY SCHOOL:- Members should note that the Annual Clergy School for clergymen in Lagos Diocese will take place at Faith Plaza. from tomorrow Monday, 14th September to Friday, 18th September, 2015. Consequently, there will be no daily 7.15 a.m. service but there will be the Mid-week Communion on Wednesday.
- PRIEST’S VACATION:- We welcome The Revd Canon John Ify & Mrs. Ebele Nriama from the first segment of their leave. The Revd Canon Clement & Mrs. Nnenna Iwuoha will commence their annual vacation from Friday, September 18, 2015 after the clergy school. Please pray for them as they take their rest.
- CONFIRMATION CLASS: NO CONFIRMATION CLASS TODAY due to the Harvest Thanksgiving. Confirmation Service will take place on Sunday, 18th October, 2015 at 9 a.m.
- COMMUNITY HYMNS SINGING FOR SEPTEMBER BABES: Our monthly Community Hymns Singing to be sponsored by September Babes will hold next Sunday, 20th September, 2015 at 6.00 p.m. Members celebrating their birthdays and events in the month of September and willing to sponsor any hymn should please liaise with either The Revd Canon Akpoghene Okoro or Mr. Michael Ipadeola, today or latest on Wednesday, 16th September, 2015
- CHURCH HOUSE FLATS: The six flats in the Church Block of flats in Ikoyi are available for corporate or individual tenants. The road (Obadeyi Close) has recently been rehabilitated with proper drains and interlocking paving stones. Interested prospective tenants for one or all of the flats (individuals or companies) should please contact the Admin. Manager or call 0803-717-7670 & 0803-400-8921.
- MISSION SEED ENVELOPES: You are invited to help empower His Grace, our Diocesan Bishop to help needy parishes and the mission fields in the diocese, within and outside the country by contributing at least One thousand Naira monthly towards the Mission Seed Project. Mission Seed would be collected TODAY and on every first Sunday of the month, but you could also pay during the week. Please collect and use a set of envelopes to help you pay regularly and God will bless you abundantly.
- TITHE ENVELOPES: God has asked you to obey Him by bringing in the FULL tithes into His storehouse and put Him to test if He will not rain blessings on you. To help you do this, the church has provided envelopes for regular tithing. Please collect yours from the Guild of Stewards. The Lord will bless you with His abundance as you obey Him. Tithes will be collected next Sunday and on every third Sunday of the month. Please note that you can continue to pay your tithe at any other time of the week or make a direct transfer to the Church’s Bank account.
- BUSINESS FELLOWSHIP’S 2015 MARKET FAIR, EXHIBITION AND BUSINESS DIRECTORY:- The Business Fellowship invites members of the church to showcase their products/services at its 2015 Market Fair. Exhibition and launching of Business Directory would hold on Saturday 24th October 2015 between 9am and 6pm at the Church Hall to mark her 16th Anniversary with business talk on raising funds for SMES.

- 18. MOTHERS’ UNION & WOMEN’S GUILD ANNUAL DUES:– Members of the Mothers’ Union & Women’s Guild are hereby reminded of the payment of their annual dues to any of the clergy wives today or within the week.
- CLASSES FOR MOTHERS’ UNION ENROLMENT:- The class for 2015 Mothers’ Union Enrolment holds today, immediately after the service at the
Chapel Extension. Members should please be punctual.
- MEMBERS’ APPEALS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:
- A couple who are very active in the church need assistance to brighten up their lives and home. Kindly stretch your hand of love to them. Please write cheques in the name of the church and endorse “Couple”. God bless you abundantly.
- We thank those who have responded to an appeal by a member for support towards the treatment of her daughter who developed RENAL TUMOUR shortly after caesarean section for her first delivery. We are still far from the N5m (Five million naira) estimated for the treatment. Kindly write your cheque in favour of ‘OUR SAVIOUR’S CHURCH, LAGOS’ and at the back ‘RENAL TUMOUR PATIENT’ or make your transfer to the Church Account with the same title that is, ‘Renal Tumour Patient’. May God bless you as you give your support towards saving this life.
- FOOD BANK: The Youth Ministry has started a Food Bank in the church. This service seeks to provide raw food stuffs and beverages for members who have nothing to eat. Kindly go to the rear entrance of the Church Hall if you find this helpful. Kindly note that this is a covenant arrangement, only those in need should visit the place. Please, also feel free to join us to bring smile to faces that are stranded by providing for them through this medium. - COMPULSORY PRE-MARRIAGE COUNSELLING: Please note that the pre-marriage counselling has started. The purpose of Counselling is to prepare our children on how to establish and maintain harmony in their marriages. The programme is intensive and will take minimum of 12 weeks.
Every potential couple should take note and avail themselves of this golden opportunity. Parents should also note that this should be the first step in preparation for their children’s wedding. We expect all the “about to be married” members to take note! Clearance will not be given for wedding until the course is completed.
