GREETINGS AND FELICITATION

    1. We welcome all our members and other worshippers at this service.  We appeal that we remember to pray for our dear nation for Divine Intervention at this difficult time.  Please take a copy of our weekly bulletin for reference.
    2. We also welcome all our guests who are fellowshipping for the first time.  Please fill the form given to you and wait briefly after the service to see the ‘WELCOME TEAM’ as you exit through the door on the lectern side of the church.
    3. We congratulate all Birthday celebrants of the week and pray for longevity,  robust health and prosperity for all of them.

  1. OUR WEEKLY ACTIVITIES: We appeal to all parishioners and other worshippers to please attend any or all of them and God will bless you all beyond your expectations:
    1. Daily Holy Communion @ 7.15 a.m. from Mondays to Fridays
    2. Hour of Divine Intervention on Wednesdays @ 6.00 p.m to 7.30 p.m.
    3. Bible Study on Fridays @ 3.00 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. & 6.00 p.m. – 7.30 p.m.
    4. Overcomer’s Hour –  First Day of the month @ 6.30 a.m. to 7.00 a.m.
    5. Glorious Night –  Last Fridays of the month @ 11.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m.
    6. Workers’ Retreat –  as the Vicar deems appropriate.
  1. ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUE: is a minimum of N1,000.00.  We appeal that we all register to become full members of our parish.
  2. FAMILY HARVEST: God expects each family to appear before Him at least once a year for thanksgiving and re-dedication.  As families, it is important to give thanks in appreciation of His faithfulness and goodness to us and to also rededicate and recommit all members of our families to Him for safe-keeping, provision, defence, sustenance, preservation, good health, victory and joy.  Please note that all members of the Church are expected to celebrate their annual Family Harvests.
  3. THE NEEDS OF OUR PARISH: We thank all our members for your continual supports, generosity and personal sacrifice.  Your labour of love will not be in vain.  We appeal to our members to pray concerning the following items which are needed by the church and as led by the Holy Spirit to assist  in donating them
    1. Wafer bread (priest wafers & for the congregation)
    2. Altar Cross (should be the latest and with steps)
    3. Imported sets of chasubles for the use of the Priests, for the    celebration of Holy Communion.
    4. Toyota buses (High roof & Medium room)
    5. Copies of Hymn Books

EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE ON THE IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY PASTORATE ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION:- The Archdeacon of our Archdeaconry uses this medium to register his deepest appreciation to all the Clergy and Clergywives, Diocesan Officials, Bishop’s Nominees, Special Guests, the Choirs of our three big churches and the leaders, the Guild of Stewards, all the Archdeaconry Board members, all their Wardens, and all our parishioners for their spiritual, moral and financial contributions that culminated in the huge success of our 9th Pastorate Anniversary.  God will continue to pay attention to you and shower His abundant blessings upon you all.
  2. PARISH YOUTH COMMITTEE ON EMPLOYMENT:- We are immensely grateful to all who have indicated interest in being members of this Committee and pray that God will continue to multiply their joy.  Those who are still interested in serving in the Committee should please, contact the Vicar.   3. OUR ADULT HARVEST THANKSGIVING SERVICE & LOVE FEAST:- For some fundamental reasons, our Adult Harvest celebration has been postponed by a week.  The new date is Sunday, 16th October, 2016 at 9.00 a.m.  We regret all the inconveniences that this may cause all our parishioners.  God of harvest will bless all of us. 

 

INFORMATION FROM THE DIOCESE

  1. LAGOS DIOCESAN ANNUAL CLERGY SCHOOL:-  The Lagos Diocesan annual Clergy School runs from Monday, September 26 to Friday, September 30, 2016.  Therefore, the daily Holy Communion Service at 7.15 a.m. will not hold.  However, arrangement will be made to conduct the Mid-week communion on Wednesday at 7.15 a.m.

 

WOMEN’S & GIRLS’ ORGANIZATIONS

  1. ENDOWMENT FUND:- Church of Nigeria Women’s & Girls’ Endowment Fund will be collected throughout the month of October.  We plead with all our women to please pay generously to any of the clergy wives.  God bless you all and enlarge your coast.  Amen.
  2. MOTHERS’ UNION & WOMEN’S GUILD ANNUAL DUES:- Members of the Mothers’ Union & Women’s Guild are hereby reminded of the payment of their annual dues to any of the clergy wives today or within the week.
  3. CLASSES FOR 2016 MOTHERS’ UNION ENROLMENT:- The class for 2016 Mothers’ Union Enrolment holds today, immediately after the service at the Chapel Extension. Members should please be punctual.

  1. IKOYI ARCHDEACONRY WOMEN’S DAY OF PRAISE:- The Ikoyi Archdeaconry Women’s Day of Praise comes up on Saturday, 8th October, 2016 at Our Saviour’s Church, TBS, Lagos at 10.00 a.m. You are all invited to come and fellowship and give praises to our God.
  2. WOMEN’S MEETING/THEALTH TALK: Date: Wednesday, 28th September,  2016 – Contemporary Issue on: ‘Parental responsibility’ by Mrs. Uloma Ubani-Ndu.  Time: 4.00p.m.  May you be richly blessed as you attend.
  3. PRAYER FOR THE NATION:- Date:  Saturday, 1st October, 2016.  Time:  10.00 a.m.  Venue:  Our Saviour’s Church Chapel.
  4. COLLECTION OF SACRIFICE CARDS: Please be informed that  the collection of sacrifice cards will be done at the main entrance of the church after the withdrawal hymn.  Members should please note and comply.
  5. WIDOWS’ WELFARE FUND: Kindly donate towards the Fund established to assist the widows of this church and God would visit you and all yours.

OTHER INFORMATION FROM OUR PARISH

  1. CHANGE OF DATE FOR CONFIRMATION SERVICE: The date fixed for our  2016 Confirmation Service has been changed.  The new date will be communicated to candidates later.  All who are being prepared to be confirmed should be very committed to what they are being taught.  Class today after the second service.
  2. EXAMINATION FOR CONFIRMATION CANDIDATES 2016:- Examination for confirmation candidates holds on Sunday, October 2, 2016 after the 11.00 a.m. service.

The Vicar’s hour, final preparation and rehearsal comes up on Saturday preceding the new date at 4.00 p.m. Candidates are advised to come to the rehearsal with the dresses they intend to wear on the confirmation day.

  1. POSTPONEMENT OF PARISH CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING:- As a result of the Diocesan Clergy School holding this week, the Parish Church Council meeting now holds on Thursday, 6th October, 2016 at 5.00 p.m.
  2. SEND-FORTH FOR REVD CANON & MRS JOHN IFEANYICHUKWU NRIAMA:- The send-forth for The Revd Canon & Mrs. John Ifeanyichukwu Nriama has been slated for Sunday, 2nd October, 2016 after the second service in the Church Hall.  We appeal to all our parishioners to be physically present to appreciate and honour them.
  4. MEMBERSHIP OF THE BAND:- Interested Adult and Youth parishioners who wish to join the Church Band should contact the Vicar or The Revd Canon Festus Ajayi.
  5. DIVCCON 2016:- This year’s DIVCCON starts in Abuja from Monday, 7th to Friday, 11th November, 2016.  Members are please, encouraged to start registering now.  DIVCCON registration fee is N3,500.00 payable to Zenith Bank Account No: 1130045359 (Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion DIVCCON) and obtain your PIN from the bank. Meet the Admin. Manager or go to www.divccon.org for the process of registration.
  6. VISITATION TO MEMBERS:- Those who have privileged information about home bound parishioners as a result of sickness and/or old age should notify the Vicar or The Revd Canon Clement Iwuoha, for visitation to be arranged for them.
  7. “The Literature and Publications Committee requests the submission of entries for the December 2016 edition of Good Tidings. The entries may be in form of articles, jokes, riddles, cartoons, etc., that would be of benefit to readers. Please send soft copies of your entries to goodtidings@osc-tbs.org. If desired, authors may send in their photographs along with their entries.”
