THE PROMISED GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

So Jesus said to them again, “peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit”.

Jesus, the head of the church, lived here on planet earth for about thirty-three impactful years. He preached the word of God, won souls, healed the sick, raised the dead, cast out demons, did many miracles, signs and wonders such that the Bible says “And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.” (John 21: 25). He was able to do so because God gave Him the Spirit without measure (John 3: 34).

While we look forward to the Second Advent of Christ, the church is saddled with the task of continuing the work which the Master had begun, and this can only be done by the enabling power of the Holy Spirit.

The chaotic situation all over the world today demands the urgent attention of the church. God is yearning for lost souls to be saved through the preaching of the gospel of salvation.

Apostle Peter, having received the promised gifts of the Holy Spirit, preached a single sermon and three thousand (3000) souls were won, thereby establishing and strengthening the church (Acts 2: 14ff) we can do same today and any day because God has given us the same Holy Spirit, “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; …” This includes all who will embrace Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour.

Jesus is certainly coming again to redeem His own people and then judge sinners – those who rejected Him. Let us make every effort to reach the world for Christ by using the promised gifts of the “Holy Spirit to save as many as are yet to know Him personally.

Remember, Jesus says “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” Let us all go out this week in the power of the Holy Spirit to win souls for Christ, heal the sick, deliver the oppressed, cast out demons, do miracles and touch lives as the Spirit gives us enablement.

Have a fruitful, rewarding and glorious week, in Jesus mighty name. God bless you.
